Other professional qualifications:
I am also trained as a Behavioural Optometrist which means I am an optician/optometrist who is able to measure and greatly reduce stress within the visual system. the emphasis is on visual stamina and comfort and efficiency rather than just clarity. My tools are stress-relieving lenses, coloured overlays and coloured lenses and vision therapy. Over 80% of what we learn at school is via the visual system I find this approach to have immediate positive impact on learning and behaviour. I was previously a member of BABO ( British Association of Behavioural Optometrists )for over 20 years. I currently work in three optometry practices in Malvern and Worcester.
I have studied other kinesiologies including Touch for health and Spectrum Healing.
Other information about me:
I have attended most of the courses affiliated with Educational Kinesiology on primitive reflexes over the past 10 years including Claire Hocking’s 1&2, Brendan O’Hara ,RMT and Google to Gurgle. These I use in my one to one work frequently as the reflexes ‘set the stage’ for all later development in the person.
I am passionate about helping those with dyslexia, by empowering them to overcome some of the challenges and helping them see and embrace the gifts of dyslexia , which often go unrecognised. In addition to my professional experience I have a 17 year old daughter who is highly dyslexic. I have had the pleasure of seeing first-hand the benefits of this holistic approach.
